Preparing for the summer gathering, have a retreat in January to plan. figuring out capacity and details.
ESL class and pamphlet on workers continuing.
APEN has been planning a statewide conference on API organizing for environmental justice

Helena: NY/CAAAV
Biggest political question about impact of Secure communities with police collaborating with ICE. Already happening in Boston. Doing education work and lookingat pressuring NY state to opt out.

Mike: Boston
Student immigrant movement working on DREAM Act
Local electoral work to support API candidates
ATI growing
APIMB figureing out sustainability and viable strategy - doing a retreat in January

Timmy/Stacy: Bay Area
APEN successful electoral campaigns and doing work statewide on climate change
Bay Area had several cases/campaigns around student deportations
ACT training happened last month -12 students, transferring coordination to college students from community members.

Website
Mike asked if he can set up website so that people can contribute content more easily to the website so that he doesn't spend as much time searching websites for what is happening across the country. Group agreed it made sense to make it easier for people to submit AND to make sure there is a way to monitor what is submitted.
Future: we can talk about how to set up an advisory committee to help coordinate the site and solicit stories

Gathering for Chinatown organizing groups
Still working on details - who will be there - organizers or members? Proposed to hold in CA in conjunction with the APALA conference

Checking in on APIMB:
valuable to know what is going on. how can we more utilize more broadly - get updates on website or social media?
better to have conversation face to face. How do we envision social change? What is APIMB's role in it?
 info sharing and check in's valuable. Not sure we have capacity to do more than that?
done a lot of good work. declining excitement for network.
are we still coordinating group? can we open up the calls to have more people sharing if that is the purpose of the calls?
Can we involve student organizers in the calls?
