Occupy Wall Street: A Revolt Against the Rich

Hundreds of people have occupied a park near Wall St. Occupation for two weeks. Protesters hope to bring some "Arab Spring" spirit to the U.S. and counteract the Tea Party and right-wing trend in the U.S. Occupy Wall Street has sparked over fifty efforts in other cities that include occupations and marches (most are listed in occupytogether.

Victory for Boston Asian American Voting Rights!

Press Release from CPA Boston

After two years of lobbying and advocacy, the bill for Chinese and Vietnamese bilingual ballots in the City of Boston has been passed by both houses of the Massachusetts Legislature. The bill now awaits the signature of Governor Deval Patrick, who has promised to sign the bill. It would take in affect in January 2011.

Two Hundred Call for Arizona Boycott at Fenway

API Movement and AARW, along with a number of other organizations threw up a 200 strong picket line outside Fenway Park before a Red Sox- Arizona Diamond Backs game on June 15th. The informational picket called for Major League Baseball (MLB) to remove the All Star game from Arizona next year in light of their newly oppressive laws against immigrants, particularly SB1070. 30% of MLB players are Latino and the MLB Players Union- who are agaiinst the AZ Law.
